What are ISA FJN bursaries and how do they work?

The José Neves Foundation (FJN) was launched on 22 September 2020. This is an innovative programme in Portugal for access to education, based on the Income Share Agreement (Income Sharing Agreement), aiming to support the Portuguese in accessing courses and training to acquire skills for the future.

How? Through full payment of the course fee by the FNJ, directly to the educational institution. The student does not need to present any guarantees in order to benefit from this programme and will only have to repay the amount invested by the Foundation in their training when they start working or when they reach an income above a predetermined amount (set at the time of subscription to the FNJ ISA and dependent on the training area and expected salary).

Nova SBE Executive Education is a partner in this initiative?

Nova SBE Executive Education's mission is also to create a community dedicated to the development of talent and knowledge with an impact on the world.

"One of the fundamental pillars of Nova SBE Executive Education is pioneering and the hope with which it looks to the future. We believe that it is our role to support individuals and society to continuously evolve and transform themselves, to strengthen their skills, in order to grow personally and professionally and thus also positively impact the advancement of our country. The alignment of our mission with that of the José Neves Foundation is total and it was with great enthusiasm that we received the invitation to be a partner educational institution in the ISA FJN programme. This program is for many individuals, especially in the current context, the essential support to invest in their development and thus be better able to face the future", explains Susana Ferreira, Director for Marketing & Communication at Nova SBE Executive Education.

Which programmes cover reimbursable grants?

Students can apply for these scholarships to participate in the following programmes:

Who are the scholarships for and how can you apply?

This is a universal programme, aimed at all Portuguese people, regardless of age and financial conditions. Furthermore, it is not necessary to present any guarantees. According to the programme's website, the grants are aimed at all citizens "who want to study throughout their lives and develop their skills to keep up with the needs of the labour market. Independently of their personal or professional situation", "who are already in the labour market - even if they are unemployed - but want to invest in the development of their skills".

Applications opened on 22 September 2020, and as there is no set period, they are available at any time of the year.

To apply, you must first enrol in one of the FJN partner courses. Once your application has been confirmed, you can apply for an ISA through José Neves Foundation website.

How many scholarships have been awarded by the José Neves Foundation?

To date, the ISA FJN scholarships have received 540 applications, including several to study at Nova SBE. According to the Fundação José Neves website, the institution "will guarantee the offer of 1000 subscriptions to final-year university students, to contribute to a knowledge society and bring everyone onto this transformative path with the truth of facts and knowledge".
