The Estoril Conferences have an active role in finding solutions for the world's most urgent issues. Since 2009, it has brought to Portugal some of the most prestigious world leaders, Nobel Prize laureates, and current and former Heads of State to debate global issues under the scope "Global Challenges, Local Answers." More than a decade later, the Estoril Conferences have become one of the most renowned events in Portugal and have moved the debates far beyond Portuguese borders.
Under the leadership of Nova SBE, the 2022 edition will bring a two-day agenda focused on seven main global challenges, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and the current global situation: Climate & Action; Economy & Purpose; Education & Skills; Technology & Ethics; Health & Wellbeing; Inclusion & Access and Politics & Trust. With CEMS - The Global Alliance in Management Education - as Strategic Partner and with McKinsey & Company as Knowledge Partner, the Estoril Conferences will amplify the intergenerational dialogue on global challenges and engage the Purpose Generation worldwide setting the stage for interactive international discussions. There will be parallel joint events taking place on the exact dates in other CEMS schools: Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia) with a 2-day event covering the full programme of the Estoril Conferences; London School of Economics (UK), with a 1-day event dedicated to the theme Economy & Purpose and Aalto University (Finland) with a dedicated panel focused on "Climate & Action."
