The Nova SBE Sustainability Journey - a collection of educational programmes, events and conferences, debates and cultural activities dedicated to sustainability - has already started. Pedro Brito, Associate Dean of Nova School of Business & Economics, explains why it is so important to bring together universities, companies and decision-makers to address current sustainability challenges.

Nova SBE wants to take a step forward in its mission to positively impact society, contributing to a new paradigm of Sustainable Prosperity. To fulfil this mission, it has created the Nova SBE Sustainability Journey - a collection of educational programmes, events and conferences, debates and cultural activities -, dedicated to sustainability, which will take place between June 20 and July 1, at the Carcavelos campus.

Nova SBE Executive Education has created the Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Development, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - internationally agreed development goals and commitments to international conventions and treaties. We spoke with Professor Ricardo Zózimo, to understand to what extent this program can help companies transform the world, society and economy.

As world leaders were preparing for the COP26 climate conference, research from the CEMS Global Alliance in Management Education (the international consortium of 34 leading business schools, 70 companies and 8 social partners of which Nova SBE is a member), released in September 2021, revealed that global professionals consider the environmental crisis, including climate change, to be the most overwhelming challenge facing business leaders in the 21st century.

Nova SBE continues its sustainability journey and soon the energy waste at the school will be used to produce vegetables.
